Reverend Kevin Allen was born in Providence, Rhode Island.  He is the son of Doris J. and the late Deacon Mack W. Allen.  He was educated in the Newberry County Public School System. Realizing the importance of a formal reveducation, Rev. Allen attended Benedict College, Midlands Technical College, and Morris College Ministerial Training Program and the School of Ministry and Evangelism.  Rev. Allen is currently pursuing his Master’s of Divinity degree.

Rev. Allen is married to the former Sandi D. Sims of Newberry, SC, daughter of Thornton L. and Carolyn B. Sims.  They are the proud parents of two children: Kevin M. Allen and Ashley D. Brailsford.  They are also the very proud grandparents of Harper and Gracen.

Rev. Allen was a member of Little River Baptist Church in Silverstreet, SC, where he served as a Trustee and a member of the gospel choir.  Upon relocating, Rev. Allen’s spiritual foundation was laid and nurtured at the Trinity Baptist Church in Columbia SC, under the teaching and guidance of Reverend Thurmond Bowens, Jr., M.Div.  He was a member of the Male Chorus, Sanctuary Choir and the United Choir.  He also was committed to the Marriage Ministry, Men Unified in Christ, and Prison Ministry.

He was called to preach in September 2003 and with the blessing of Pastor Bowens, he then went forward with diligent study and preparation.  Rev. Allen was licensed to preach in March 2008 at the Trinity Baptist Church and was ordained by the Gethsemane Baptist Association in March 2009.

Rev. Allen’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 16:3, “Commit thy plans unto the Lord and then you will be successful.”
